Problem:

When performing VMware re-directed restore you may encounter Netbackup status code 2817 "FlashBackup Windows policy restore error" with the following error messages:

12-05-2011 16:04:48 - Error bpbrm (pid=26736) cannot put rename file on vcbproxy.acme.com
12-05-2011 16:04:48 - Info tar (pid=0) done. status: 12: file open failed

Cause:

The "AltPath" directory is missing in <install point>\veritas\netbackup\logs\ on the VMware proyx backup host.

Resolution:

Create the directory manualy. Resirected restore will work afterwards.
