FT client does not detect ARCHIVE devices

In Netbackup 6.5.x the nbftclnt service will fail to detect the "ARCHIVE  Python" devices if the host has more than 100 /dev/sg devices. This is due to nbftclnt only scanning sg1 to sg99. There is an EEB available for 6.5.x that addresses the issue. The issues is formal resolved build NB_7.0.1_20100314.

How to detect the issue:

HP-UX 11.31 PHKL_41700 warning

By bitter experience I have noticed that the installation of HP-UX patch PHKL_41700 causes a severe drop in backup performance (up to 2/3).

According to HP the following workaround can be used. The kernel settings enable high resolution timers support

# kctune  hires_timeout_enable = 1

Document link to HP documentation for hires_timeout_enable : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02255648/c02255648.pdf

Better option is to back out PHKL_41700 if possible.

Decommission a FT enabled media server

A additional step is needed before it's possible to decommission a FT enabled media sever, even using  nbdecommission utility.

1: Cause: nbemmcmd -deletehost return:

NBEMMCMD, Version:6.5.6
The function returned the following failure status:
generic EMM SQL error (193)
Command did not complete successfully.

2: Dumping the nbdb using /usr/openv/db/dbadm indicate references in the EMM database
